Letter from the Mayor
Members of the Brett’s Run Committee,
On behalf of the City of Genoa, I’d like to thank you for your efforts in establishing and successfully accomplishing the first annual Brett’s Run! It was my honor to participate in such a monumental event.
As Mayor, I commend Lauren, the Kubasiak family, the Education Foundation and all the volunteers for their efforts in establishing this run and scholarship program. I thank everyone who participated in this race, whether they ran, cheered others on, donated their time or donated monies for this cause. May the memory of Brett live on through us all!
This is one of the many community programs that make us all proud to be residents of Genoa. Early Saturday morning (after a long week of Genoa Days) over 400 people gathered to support this cause! Like the volume of people that came out in the rain for this year’s Memorial Day Service or the countless donations made to the Emmens family when they lost their home in a fire, Genoans can always count on one another! There is no better place to live!
It was evident in the number of participants and the monies raised that this will be a successful annual event. I look forward to participating in next year’s 2nd Annual Brett’s Run.
Sincerely,
Todd A. Walker
Mayor, City of Genoa
